The HA2B5-S and HA3B3-S are high-precision high-voltage amplifiers in a 3U / 8HP / 220 mm plug-in format. These plug-in modules are designed for use in 19-inch mainframes and provide output voltages of ±2000 V at ±5 mA (HA2B5-S) and ±3000 V at ±3 mA (HA3B3-S). The high-voltage output is accessible via an SHV socket on the front panel.
The gain is 200 for the HA2B5-S and 300 for the HA3B3-S – in each case with an input voltage range of ±10 V. Both modules are characterised by extreme precision, very high DC voltage stability, fast rise times, extremely low residual ripple and a low noise level. The output stage is based on a linear four-quadrant high-voltage output stage with minimal distortion and is ideally suited for driving capacitive or mixed resistive/capacitive loads.
Variants with even lower noise are available as an option – with reduced bandwidth and slew rate.
For applications requiring differential output voltages, two modules can be combined. In this configuration, only the master channel receives the control signal, whilst the slave channel provides an output voltage of equal magnitude but in reverse polarity.
The output voltage is controlled via a differential setpoint input. Voltage and current monitoring outputs, as well as a TTL-compatible INHIBIT input, are provided for monitoring purposes.
Comprehensive protection functions ensure safe operation: the output stage is protected against overcurrent, short circuit, overvoltage and high-voltage breakdown.
Power is supplied externally at +24 V – the high-voltage generation is fully integrated into the module.
For integration into safety-critical applications, the modules feature a safety interlock circuit. If this circuit is interrupted, the internal high-voltage sources are automatically switched off.
The optional HAR42-4 mainframe accommodates up to four of these amplifier modules and enables compact, modular system integration.
Customised versions of both the amplifier modules and the mainframe are available on request – ranging from slightly modified models to fully bespoke solutions.
