Development of a high-performance high-voltage power supply for a test system
An industrial client was faced with the challenge of expanding its production line to include an automated testing system. At the heart of the testing system is a high-performance high-voltage power supply. The requirements were exceptionally demanding: two symmetrically controlled high-voltage sources capable of operating in series or in parallel – whilst maintaining high performance parameters. As no suitable device was available on the market, a new solution had to be developed.
The technical challenge
The new system was required to provide:
- 7 kV output voltage
- 7 A output current
- 20 kW power per channel
provide – whilst ensuring the highest levels of stability, safety and flexibility during testing.
